Games are not human invention. They are older (probably a lot older) than our race. Even some smarter animals like to play games among each other and we inherited predispositions for enjoying games as well.

Why? Because games are important, because of what they represent. They represent a safe way of training, a form of preparation for real and dangerous challenges, which universe can through at us.

In the last few decades (along with computer revolution) our race have shifted games to whole new level. But more or less advanced virtual worlds also came with a price. The balance between mental and physical training has been broken.

Ordinary computer games engage the mind and ignore the body. For significant number of people in younger generations playing games is now mostly represented by pushing buttons. In my point of view, this situation is wrong.

As long as we are flesh and blood, we should try to keep a balance. On normal computers, there is not much that can be done about this situation. But newer generations of game consoles already brought back (at least partially) the physical aspect of playing games.

Now is the time to try and do the same with even more important category. Current generation of phones and tablets have more computational power than big computers had a few years ago and they are full of sensors people often even don’t know about.

Wormkout represents an attempt to increase the interest in accelerometers, magnetometers and gyroscopes. The quality and the distribution of these sensors among mobile devices is finally high enough. But game developers are still neglecting them despite the fact, that the utilization of the full potential, which these sensors have, could significantly change mobile gaming.

Ask your self a simple question – when was the last time a mobile game required from you a real physical activity? (Tapping or tilting doesn’t count.)

If you like the idea of physically engaging mobile games (and if your device is compatible), then give Wormkout a chance. Since our devices are practically always with us, one or two levels of Wormkout any time during the day can stretch your back and you might not even notice it has been done so.

When enough people will get interested, other games will follow. And in the meantime, Wormkout can grow and mature according to wishes of the community of people who enjoy playing it…
